Abstract

Banjarnegara is one of the regions in Central Javawhich is very vulnerable to landslide disaster. This condition ismotivated by the geological conditions and the metoerologicalconditions of Banjarnegara Regency that contributed to thehigh potential for landslides. One area in BanjarnegaraRegency which is prone to landslides is KarangkobarSub-District. From 2018, there have been 23 landslides inKarangkobar Sub-District, out of a total of 152 landslides thatoccurred in Banjarnegara. This study intended to determine thelevel of landslide threats in Karangkobar Sub-District and thelevel of community capacity in dealing with landslide threats inKarangkobar Sub-District. The method used in the study isscoring, geographic information systems, descriptive, Gutmanscale, and comparative descriptive. Parameters used todetermine the threat of landslides are rainfall, slope, soil type,land use, soil texture, soil drainage, and soil depth. While theparameters for the level of capacity are the rules andinstitutions for disaster management, early warning anddisaster risk assessment, disaster education, reduction of basicrisk factors, and preparedness development for all lines. Basedon to the result, we know that the level of landslides inKarangkobar Sub-District consists of low landslide threat levelthat covers only 1% of the Karangkobar area, moderatelandslide threat that covers 74% of the Karangkobar area, andHigh level of landslide threat that covers 25% of the entireKarangkobar area. Based on the research result shows thatmost of the Karangkobar Sub-District area still has a lowcapacity in dealing with disasters. The low capacity of thecommunity in Karangkobar Sub-District will be a seriousproblem because of the large threat of landslides in the area.For this reason, disaster mitigation efforts are needed in theKarangkobar Sub-District community.
