Abstract

The ever-increasing energy demands of today’srapidly emerging world economies, has placed energy use andconservation at the heart of the world sustainability challenge.Consequently, a lot of focus and research is aimed at theimplementation of the various sustainable strategies and models,to address the global sustainability challenges in energy use andits conservation. This paper presents an overview of anapproach considered to meet this global sustainability challengeby Ahmadi Sports Ground, which is considered as one of themasterpieces of Ahmadi Township, developed by the KuwaitOil Company (KOC).<br>The paper introduces the specific application of using energygenerating tiles through energy harvesters in the AhmadiSports Ground. For a good comprehension, the paper takes theelementary materials scientific development from their historyand mentions the actual acknowledgement and energygeneration mechanism of those materials throughoutconcurrent researches.
